Hope House Babies Home

Joshua was just one-day old when a police-man found him abandoned along the side of a road in Nairobi. Sarah and her twin sister Mary were found crying in the pit of an outside latrine where they had been thrown by their mother when they were just a few days old.

Every year, thousands of babies are abandoned in Kenya
Babies with birth defects receive the operations needed

Today, however, Joshua, Sarah, Mary and more than a dozen other babies are smiling and playing at the Hope House Babies Home located in Nairobi. Since opening its doors in 2002, Hope House has taken in more than a hundred of abandoned children between the ages of one day and two years old. After nursing the children back to health, Hope House then cares for the children until they can find them new loving homes.

For children found to be HIV positive, Hope House provides the medicine needed to keep the children healthy. For those with birth defects such as cleft lips or club feet, Hope House ensures the children will receive the operations needed.
