Poverty, AIDS, abuse and drugs have left tens of thousands of children without homes or families in Kenya. Many are forced to prostitute themselves to survive. Since 1996, ChildsLife has supported the Mully’s Children’s Family organization (MCF) to take these children off the street and give them the love and care they deserve.
At the Mully children’s centre in Ndalani, 60 miles north of Nairobi, some 500 children aged 7 to 18 receive housing, schooling and professional training. ChildsLife installed a hydraulic pump and a three-mile irrigation system for the center’s farm. The farm not only provides food for the children, but also has been certified to sell green beans to the European Union – the first locally-run farm to ever receive such certification in Kenya.
