Street children
Thousands of children in Romania, especially in the capital of Bucharest, live in the streets. By day, they beg or steal. At night, they often turn to prostitution in order to earn money to feed themselves. Many live in underground tunnels, sniffing glue to get high and find a brief escape from their misery. Some get pregnant and begin raising a new generation of street children.

ChildsLife helps street children by giving them food

ChildsLife is working with local charities to distribute packages of food, clothing and toiletries to children living on the street. Partnering with these groups, we also are working to ensure younger children go to school and older children learn professional skills needed to find jobs later in life. We recently delivered dozens of sewing machines to local charities so they could teach teenagers how to make clothes and find jobs as tailors. ChildsLife also sends doctor’s supplies and equipment to local charities that provide medical care to these street children.
