WORLD AIDS DAY

WORLD AIDS DAY

December 1st is World AIDS Day; a day when the world renews its collective efforts to fight HIV/AIDS.
For ChildsLife, World AIDS Day means more than just a red ribbon. It is a day to draw attention to the HIV epidemic around the world; to raise awareness of HIV, to remember loved ones who have died, to show solidarity with people living with HIV, and to celebrate survival and good health.
As we commemorate this day, we celebrate our achievement in addressing this public health challenge. Live, Learn & Earn Program (LLE) is the vehicle that ChildsLife uses to scale up its campaign against HIV/AIDS. Women infected with HIV and AIDS living in Kenyan slums receive care and support under the umbrella of ChildsLife for 15 months. Our goal is to provide hope through high-quality and appropriate care that helps ill people and families maintain their independence and achieve the best possible quality of life. Since the program began in the year 2000, more than 1500 women and families have been reached directly and indirectly which meets ChildsLife LLE mission.
