Education is the key to a better future. Yet millions of children cannot go to school. Often because there is no school nearby or parents cannot afford to send their children to school. In Kenya there are simply not enough schools for the number of children. The schools that do exist are often in a bad state of repair. 

 What does ChildsLife do

For 25 years ChildsLife builds and renovates schools, from primary school to secondary school and vocational training centre. For many children school is more than just a place to learn. It is a place where they are safe. Where they get a warm meal and feel at home. So for many children in extreme poverty, the classroom is also their refuge, their safe haven.

ChildsLife has built more than 40 schools and made education accessible for thousands of children and adolescents in Kenya.

ChildsLife Vocational Centre

The ChildsLife Vocational Centre in the slum of Kibera was built in 2011 to give disadvantaged youth the opportunity to learn a profession, find a job and escape poverty.  The centre provides effective and quality training that fits in with the local labour market so that graduates can start work immediately.
