ChildsLife installed a 170 meter deep borehole in the Kajiado district in Kenya including 4 kilometers of pipeline to several drinking water points for the community for both people and livestock. This intervention has a large and sustainable impact on the entire community of 6000 people.
Women and children no longer have to travel long distances to fetch often polluted water and cattle are now healthy. Healthy herds mean a stable income for families. Children can go to school because they no longer have to go out daily to fetch clean drinking water. The water is also used to grow vegetables, which creates employment, an income and a food source for the community.
