Program Food Security

Worldwide, some 2 billion people suffer from malnutrition, with women and children hit hardest. Climate change, the war in Ukraine, a growing world population and rising food prices are putting food security increasingly at risk. Lack of nutrition hinders economic and physical development and that is why ChildsLife fights hunger and improves access to healthy food.

What does ChildsLife do

ChildsLife offers education with school meals so that children who grow up in extreme poverty get a nutritious meal at least once a day. ChildsLife encourages people and gives them tools to take care of themselves. Therefore vulnerable mothers in slums get their own vegetable garden or kitchen garden to grow their own vegetables. Greenhouses are placed at schools to supplement the lunch program, but also to provide financial support for the school. In emergency situations, such as the past corona pandemic or the current war in Ukraine, food security is further compromised. Many people are struggling to put food on the table, not knowing where their next meal will come from. In these kind of emergencies ChildsLife mobilizes extra food aid through food packages.

It means stunted physical and mental development, susceptibility to illness, reduced performance at school or even staying ...
