Food security is increasingly under threat; problems such as climate change and the war in Ukraine have a major impact on structural food supplies. Malnutrition is therefore a common problem.
Women work hard to provide enough food and earn an income for their families. The ChildsLife Kitchen Gardens project has been very successful and has provided a healthy food source to many vulnerable women, young mothers and families since 2017. The kitchen gardens consist of a sturdy bag with fertile soil and plenty of quality seeds. Green vegetables such as spinach and leafy cabbage are grown in them. The harvest, about 3 times a year, supports a family of 6-7 people.
