Like many countries, Romania is facing the second corona wave. The country has been hit badly, hospitals and IC units have currently run out of capacity. Unlike the spring the country is not in lock down. Measures are taken on a regional level and vary greatly from area to area. Vulnerable people from marginalized communities have been very badly affected by this crisis. ChildsLife Romania director Florian Ivan continues his support to the most vulnerable families and elderly to help them deal with the corona crisis by offering advice and distributing food and hygiene packages.
The ChildsLife AnneNoor Education Centers based in Barlad have been able to reopen last month with strict safety and hygiene measures in place. Classes have been split up into 3 or 4 groups of children so a save social distance can be kept. We have taken all the necessary precautions to hopefully be allowed to continue to provide education and care to vulnerable children who so desperately need our support.
